These are not the base trims of either vehicle, but they are the two that are closest in price, making it easier to see what you get for your money with each vehicle. We’ve also opted for the more powerful AWD configuration of the Chevrolet Blazer EV, since AWD is standard on the Ford Mach-E GT. Pricing is nearly identical, as is range, but after that, you start to see some important differences. The Mach-E is more powerful, a lot more powerful. In fact, the Mach-E GT has a quicker 0-60 time than every trim of the Blazer EV, including the 615-horsepower SS, which costs about ten thousand dollars more than the trims we’re looking at here. The Mach-E wins on practicality with more rear cargo space for luggage.

With such similar pricing and purpose, you would probably expect that these vehicles would have similar levels of equipment, but that’s not quite true. One of the clearest examples of this is hands-free driving, or BlueCruise, as Ford calls it, which comes standard on the Mach-E GT. Chevrolet has a similar system, known as Super Cruise, but not only is it not standard on the RS, this option alone will set you back an extra $4,650. Unresponsive driver assist, which safely brings the vehicle to a stop should the driver fall asleep or be otherwise rendered unresponsive, is another standard feature on the Mach-E GT, but not the Blazer EV.

All of GM’s electric vehicles come with a version of Google built-in that locks you out of using either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. That means you’ll need an additional subscription for data in your vehicle, while Ford just lets you use your phone in what has become the norm for nearly every other manufacturer. You can then use that functionality to play music through a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen® stereo in the Mach-E, but the premium stereo in the Blazer EV, an 8-speaker Bose® system, is locked to top trim, so unless you want to spend the extra ten thousand, you get a 6-speaker generic system. Brembo performance brakes are a similar story, standard on the Mach-E, but only available on the Blazer EV SS. And to round it out, the Mach-E has more parking sensors.

Winner - Ford Mustang Mach-E

For two such similarly priced vehicles, this wasn’t an especially close comparison. The Ford Mustang Mach-E offers much more impressive performance credentials, more practicality, and significantly better equipment. It’s all enough to make you wonder what exactly Chevrolet is charging so much for. But when talking about a performance vehicle, it’s best to experience it in person. That’s where Joe Rizza Ford of Orland Park comes in; our friendly and knowledgeable team can help you find the Mustang Mach-E that’s the right fit for you.
