2025 Ford STX Package Overview for F-150 and F-250

Ford STX Package - Joe Rizza Ford

The versatility of Ford trucks is one of the brand's major selling points. There are multiple configuration options that allow you to equip your truck to your specifications exactly. However, this huge list of available configurations and options can make it difficult to figure out exactly what’s right for you. This is often especially true of option ‘packages’, each featuring a collection of popular options which can make big changes to a vehicle. To help arm you with additional information when shopping for your next Ford truck, Joe Rizza Ford of Orland Park put together a guide to the STX Appearance Package - a popular package that many people have questions about. You’ll also learn about what makes the F-150 STX one of the most popular trim levels in the model range.

This package is available on the XL trim of most Ford pickups, with the exception being the compact Ford Maverick. Since XL trim levels are the most value-focused of the range, many buyers often prefer to add additional equipment based on their needs. The SXT Appearance Package is aimed at individuals looking to make a statement and it gives them a bit more style as well as some comfort features. Let’s take a look at how these packages and trim levels break down by model including the F-150, F-250 Super Duty, and Ranger.

Ford F-150 STX

Ford F-150 STX

Arguably the most popular STX model in the Ford pickup truck range is the F-150 STX. Unlike its smaller and larger siblings, the Ford F-150 is the only truck to offer the STX as a standalone trim level instead of an option package. As the second trim level, positioned above the value-packed XL and below the popular XLT – STX models represent the ultimate combination of style and versatility. Key features of the F-150 STX include:

  • 18-inch gloss black-painted aluminum wheels
  • Black and dark gray coast-to-coast grille
  • Body-color front and rear bumpers
  • Unique Sport Cloth upholstery

STX vs XLT

Here is a question that comes up a lot. What is the difference between STX and XLT? For the F-150, this is very easy since they’re different trim levels. For the Ranger and Super Duty, it’s a different story. Simply put, the XLT is a trim level and the STX is an option package. Upgrading to the XLT trim level gives you some of the same equipment as the STX but it is a much more extensive list overall. The STX is a way to give your XL trim truck some extra flair without the need to spend more on upgrading to the higher trim level.
