About the Ford Expedition

Commanding, confident, and capable of taking your adventures further than ever before -- the full-size Ford Expedition continues to set the benchmark for its class. Engineered to a higher standard than most, the Expedition comes standard with a potent 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that’s designed to strike a balance between muscular performance and surprising efficiency. Looking for even more space and capability? Expedition MAX models boast an additional foot of overall length and can carry an extra 15.8 cubic feet of your gear along the way to your destination.

Equally as smart as it is strong, innovative technology is found throughout the cabin of the Ford Expedition. SYNC® 4 with both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration help you stay connected as the miles fly by. Regardless of your driving style, everyone can use a helping hand from time to time. That’s exactly why the Expedition is available with the groundbreaking Ford Co-Pilot360 collection of advanced safety technologies. No matter if you’ve got a growing family or a growing thirst for adventure, look no further than the bold Ford Expedition.

What the Critics Say

"Yes, the Ford Expedition is a very good large SUV, and its performance score is among the best in the class. This Ford’s twin-turbo V6 engine has ample muscle and more than holds its own against rivals’ V8 engines. The Expedition also has composed handling for a vehicle of its size." - U.S. News & World Report

"The same goes for its ride and handling—with its aluminum body reducing weight, you don't really feel like you're driving something that huge. Our Expedition XLT test vehicle felt planted even when driven on tight corners, with the steering feeling precisely balanced while delivering the right amount of feedback." - MotorTrend

What's New for 2024

Only a handful of small changes have been made to the 2024 Ford Expedition. New this year is an optional Excursion Package that includes interior floor liners, the Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) system with Suspension Road Preview, an electronic limited-slip differential with 3.73 gearing, and ControlTrac with eLSD. In addition, a new Wild Green exterior color is now offered on select 2024 Expedition trims as a no-cost option. With an all-new model expected to arrive as soon as next year, this could be the final year for this generation of the Ford Expedition.

Ford Expedition Features

Ford Expedition Performance

Outstanding Performance

No road (or lack thereof) can deny this full-size SUV from reaching its destination, with a sturdy fully-boxed frame, powerful engine, and various drivetrain options. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine with 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission maximizes fuel efficiency while providing confident performance. Choose between a standard EcoBoost® V6 engine boasting 380 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque or an available EcoBoost® High-Output V6 engine offering 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. For greater confidence when the terrain gets rough, an optional 4-wheel drive (4WD) system featuring 7 individual drive modes helps you conquer the trails. The Expedition remains an excellent choice for towing thanks to its maximum towing capacity through its Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package as well as AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™.

Ford Expedition Interior

Impressive Interior

Versatility and premium comfort are just two aspects of the spacious interior of the Ford Expedition. If you don't need to accommodate 8 passengers, you can also lower both the 2nd and 3rd row of seating down for a maximum cargo volume of 104.6 cubic feet. While keeping your seats up, passengers can take full advantage of the best-in-class second- and third-row legroom of the Expedition, both boasting more than 40 inches. With all that space, you'll need something to keep your cargo together. The Expedition features an available advanced cargo management system with an adjustable shelf that fits behind the third-row seats to optimize all that space to its fullest. For higher quality sound, drivers can opt for an available Bang & Olufsen® Sound System with 12 high-performance speakers, 4 midwoofers, and a subwoofer. Personalize the atmosphere of the interior even further with available options including ambient interior lighting and a panoramic Vista Roof®.

Ford Expedition Technology

Innovative Technology

Inside your Ford Expedition, you'll find a command center with state-of-the-art technology designed to keep you in control while keeping passengers comfortable and entertained. In the driver's seat, you can find smart technology like the SYNC® 4 that gives you the ability to make voice-activated commands without lifting a finger. Smartphone integration through this feature also incorporates Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. It comes standard with four smart-charging USB ports to help keep your devices charged for the journey. You can also avoid a tangled mass of chargers if you choose the optional center console wireless charging pad. Second-row passengers can now enjoy an available dual-headrest rear-seat entertainment system with a screen mounted behind each front seat. This system allows passengers to watch TV, play video games, or stream video from their phone.

Ford Expedition Safety

Proactive Safety

Just like its impressive infotainment technology, the Ford Expedition also comes standard with safety features to help keep both you and your passengers prepared for the unexpected. Ford Co-Pilot360™- is a collection of driver-assist technologies designed to help you stay focused on the road with fewer distractions. Examples of groundbreaking features included in Ford Co-Pilot360 are a reverse sensing system and a rearview camera with backup assist grid lines, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, and Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ 2.0 for additional confidence. Another groundbreaking feature offered on the Expedition is Ford BlueCruise – a cutting-edge innovation that allows for hands-free driving on the highway.

Ford Expedition MAX

Ford Expedition MAX

Still searching for even more space for a growing family or an expanding collection of equipment for your active lifestyle? Look no further than the exceedingly capable Expedition MAX. When a regular-sized Expedition won't cut it, this addition available on all trim levels adds more space, power, and style. Adding 15.8 cubic feet of cargo, about 12 inches to the overall length of the SUV, and 4.6 more gallons of fuel capacity, the Expedition MAX supersizes the largest SUV in the Ford model lineup.
