About the Ford Transit Passenger Wagon

Whether it's for business or pleasure, the Ford Transit Passenger Wagon fits your every need. Offering enough space for heavy-duty cargo-carrying and more than a soccer team's worth of people, the Transit Passenger Wagon is designed to excel at both work and play. This van can move passengers and cargo alike thanks to a standard 3.5-liter PDFI V6 engine with a 10-Speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. More than 100 maximum cubic feet of cargo space lets you bring your band on tour along with all their equipment. Seating a maximum of 15 occupants, you'll have enough room for all members of your team or organization. Meanwhile, innovative technology for safety such as a standard Rear View Camera provides greater awareness for the driver.

What the Critics Say

"Ford offers the Transit with a variety of roof heights and wheelbase lengths, which allows you to tailor the cabin size to fit your needs. The Transit passenger wagon seats up to 15. The van's cabin design is slick and contemporary, taking cues from the Ford Explorer, and it's quiet inside at highway speeds." — Car and Driver

"When you consider the Transit's utility capabilities, it's impressive how well it behaves on curvy roads. The power is fun, and the handling is good enough to stop you from being the guy who's holding up the line when you're going up a mountain road. The Transit is a workhorse, but its styling isn't overly boring or boxy." — Edmunds

What's New for 2025

There are hardly any changes to the popular Ford Transit Passenger Wagon for the 2025 model year. Last year's off-road-focused Transit Trail models have been dropped from the lineup. Aside from that minor change, the Transit Passenger Wagon returns this year essentially unchanged.

Ford Transit Passenger Wagon Features

Ford Transit Passenger Wagon

Capable Performance

The Ford Transit Passenger Wagon offers two potent yet efficient engine choices to meet a diverse range of uses. The standard 3.5-liter PDFI V6 engine produces a balanced 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. In an effort to improve performance and fuel economy, this V6 engine employs variable control valve cam timing to custom-tailor the engine performance to a wide array of driving conditions. Also available is the muscular 3.5 EcoBoost® V6 engine cranks out 310 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, helping you bring even your largest toys along for the adventure. The Transit Passenger Wagon can tow a maximum of 4,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Versatile Interior and Technology

Several amenities on the Ford Transit Passenger Wagon keep riders satisfied row after row. Standard interior features include an available 12-inch touchscreen display as well as an available SYNC® 4 infotainment system featuring voice-activated technology for the infotainment system. A wide array of seating arrangements are available depending on wheelbase size. These seating options range from 12 to 15 passengers. The Transit Passenger Wagon offers a maximum cargo space of over 100 cubic feet behind the third row of seating. Keeping the interior spacious for riders is a selection of three roof heights including low, medium, or high. Passengers can enjoy a maximum of more than 55 inches of headroom in every row (depending on configuration).

Ford Transit Passenger Wagon Safety

Groundbreaking Safety

When you purchase a passenger van, we know it's more for your occupants or cargo than anything else. To ensure everything and everyone stays both safe and comfortable, the Transit Passenger Wagon provides several features to do just that. For additional confidence behind the wheel, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control (RSC) provides an additional layer of protection. The van's available Lane-Keeping and Driver Alerts help to keep drivers aware of their surroundings by monitoring the van's position on the road and sounding alerts whenever it drifts out of its lane or the driver seems tired or distracted. The Ford Safety Canopy® system provides coverage to all occupants with driver, passenger front, and side airbags as well as side-curtain airbags.
