About The Ford E-Transit

The Ford Transit is a massive success all over the world, a favorite work or delivery vehicle across a huge range of industries. It only makes sense that Ford would use the Transit as the basis for a fully electric mass-market commercial vehicle. Meet the E-Transit, the only vehicle of its type on the market in 2023. But as unique and innovative as the E-Transit's electric drivetrain might be, it is still a Transit, which means you can count on it to serve all the same functions as the gasoline-powered version. The E-Transit is the perfect way to cut down on fuel and maintenance costs without losing any functionality.

What the Critics Say

"As a workhorse, the E-Transit's cabin is utilitarian, with rubberized flooring, durable plastic trim, and cloth seat upholstery. Both standard-height and high-roof models are offered, as well as normal and extended-wheelbase bodies. Cargo space will be plentiful no matter which body style is chosen" — Car & Driver

"The E-Transit shows the extent to which Ford is doubling down on its commitment to EVs. Delivery culture has swept the world by storm, as has a growing concern about the environmental impact of emissions from the trucks and vans that are carrying goods. In a bid to lessen some of the damage from delivery vehicles, Ford has embraced electrification of the Transit." — Motortrend

Ford E-Transit Features

Ford E-Transit Charging

Fully Electric Drivetrain

The thing that sets the E-Transit apart, not only from the standard Transit but also from any other delivery vehicle on the market, is the electric drivetrain. This includes a 68-kWh battery and an electric motor that sends power to the rear wheels. It produces 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. And while the suspension was reworked to accommodate the different weight distribution of the electric drivetrain, the driving dynamics will feel very familiar to anyone used to the conventional version of the Transit. Range is impacted most by the aerodynamics of whichever roof option you choose, with low roof models reaching up to 126 miles of range, and high roof models achieving up to 108 miles.

Ford E-Transit Interior

Delivering Advanced Tech

The advanced technology found in the E-Transit doesn't end with the advanced drivetrain. You'll find all sorts of driver assistance features come standard, including lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking. Available features include adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition, blind spot assist, and a 360-degree camera. Inside, you'll find a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, much bigger than the one found in the standard Transit, running SYNC® 4. There is a 4G LTE modem that can provide vehicle telematics to fleet managers, or power a WiFi hotspot. It also allows for over-the-air updates.

Ford E-Transit

Built For Hard Work

Versatility is the entire philosophy behind the E-Transit. That's why three different lengths and three different roof heights are offered. The interior is made from durable materials and is carefully designed to deliver the maximum cargo space possible. In fact, the high roof and extended wheelbase model offers up a staggering 487 cubic feet of cargo space. And to go with that, the maximum payload comes in at 3,880 pounds. For those using the E-Transit as a work van, there is Pro Power Onboard, a supply of 2.4 kW that can be used to power tools, lights, or whatever else you need on the site.
